ATLANTA, GEORGIA (5/23/2023- Stuntman and Stunt Coordinator Jay Amor announces bid for SAG-AFTRA Atlanta Local's National Board Seat.  Jay has been a member in good standing of SAG since 1979 and AFTRA since 1980. Amor says in his official statement "Its time to make our union ours again." 

Jay Amor is a working member with 44 pension credits. Amor said, "I'm a working member with a vested interest in the contracts, healthcare, and pension. I have no choice but to get involved again to help repair the damage l've seen done to our seniors, the giveaways in the contracts, and the discrimination of our most precious members.”

"How is it that when a member in good standing turns 65 years of age and the need for insurance is most important the residuals don't go towards your insurance qualifications, but you still have to pay dues on your residuals. We need to put people in place that look out for its members." Jay Amor said.  "The current leadership of SAG-AFTRA has done FAR more damage to its own members than our employers could have ever done to us. It is time to repair this broken union, and return the power to the members."

With Over 400 Films; including locally made Black Panther, Greenland, Suicide Squad and Bad Boys for life and many more TV, and Commercials Jay is proud of working close to home in Atlanta.  Jay Amor has served on the SAG board and AFTRA board. When the unions merged he served on the SAG-AFTRA Board in total 12 years.

Jay Amor has also served on the National Stunt Safety Committee.  He has been a convention Delegate on the AFTRA Board and also a convention Delegate for SAG.

"Our union has changed" says Amor " its' not a member-run Union anymore, It's a staff run union that needs to change back to a member-union. It's time we take our union back!!
